We're a group of local people working together to shape a fairer future for Wallingford.
We believe the spaces and places that define our town should benefit the people who live here - and that we should have a key role in owning and managing them.
As a Community Land Trust (CLT), we bring people together to create community spaces and affordable homes, support community-led projects, and aim to care for what makes Wallingford special for generations to come.
A Community Land Trust (CLT) is a not-for-profit, community-led organisation that develops and stewards homes, buildings, land and other community assets for long-term local benefit.
Spaces that serve local people. Homes that stay affordable. And decisions made by the community, not distant developers.
Wallingford Community Land Trust exists to help ensure that local people can continue to live, work and thrive here - now and in the future.
Wallingford is a historic market town with a strong sense of identity, community and place. But pressures on local facilities and growing demands on infrastructure mean many local people and community groups and organisations are finding their needs unmet.
We want to help change that.
Our vision is for a Wallingford where:
We can accommodate the needs of our diverse and vibrant community and voluntary sector
Community spaces are in community hands
Young people and families can put down roots
Older residents can stay connected to the community
Local people can afford to live locally
Wallingford Community Land Trust has grown out of years of local conversations, collaboration and community action across the Wallingford area.
Our roots lie in wider community-led efforts to create spaces and opportunities that genuinely reflect local needs - shaped by residents, supported by volunteers, and driven by a belief that communities work best when people have a real stake in the places they live.
Our organisation was established in 2022, as OX10 Community Centre Limited, by local residents who shared a vision for a welcoming, community-owned space in Wallingford town centre. The society set out to create a hub where people could meet, learn, collaborate and support one another.
Over time, that work helped bring together people interested in sustainability, wellbeing, local democracy, youth provision and community ownership. Events, partnerships and public conversations highlighted both the strength of local energy and the growing need for long-term solutions that keep Wallingford inclusive and accessible for future generations.
Wallingford Community Land Trust is the next step in that journey: building on the foundations of community-led action to explore how land, housing and local assets can be protected and stewarded for long-term public benefit.
We are still at an early stage, but the direction is clear. We are dedicated to ensuring that Wallingford is a thriving place for people of all ages and backgrounds through community asset ownership.
